biography

Born and raised in Luxor, Egypt, Hatem studied finance and economics at Minerva University, participating in a global program that took him to San Francisco, Hyderabad, Seoul, and London. Most recently, Hatem worked as a Capital Markets Analyst at the World Bank, advising over 20 developing nations on structuring financing packages and capital markets strategies. Witnessing the transformative power of private capital in addressing global development funding needs, Hatem decided to pursue the MPP+MBA program at Oxford to explore how to mobilise private capital for development impact from both policy and business perspectives.

At the School, Hatem will focus on learning what it takes to foster private sector development and effective public-private collaboration, while also sharing his experience in capital markets, development funding, fiscal planning, and policy with his peers.
