Hashem is a policy analyst at the Office of His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan, where he leads the Arab and African affairs file within the Political Affairs Directorate. His work focuses on regional affairs and foreign policy, providing analysis and policy recommendations to support decision-making, strategic priorities, and international engagement. Before joining the Office of His Majesty, he worked across the private and public sectors in national crisis management, manufacturing, industrial automation, and renewable energy. Hashem holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering from New York University, with a focus on communications, networking, and signal processing. Hashem’s policy interests include national and regional security, how states can strengthen their resilience to economic and geopolitical shocks, and how regional integration and connectivity can support economic growth and stability. Hashem is pursuing the MPP to broaden his policy toolkit and build on his public service experience. Ramya Khanna Ramya is an Indian lawyer who holds a BA LLB with distinction from India, and an LLM with a specialisation in international law from the University of Cambridge. As an avid social engineer, she has explored social advocacy and legal activism through litigation, judicial clerkships and through her pro bono association with various NGOs. Ramya has also been involved in advocating for increase of the upper gestation limit for abortion in India, and for the banning of female genital mutilation in India. Most recently, as a legal consultant to the Law Commission of India, her work has focused on analysing and drafting recommendations for proposed constitutional and statutory amendments, assisting a High-Level Committee to examine the feasibility of introducing a comprehensive sentencing policy for India, and incorporating blockchain technology in the property registration regime in India. Ramya’s areas of interest include law, technology, AI, and healthcare.
