biography

Hagit grew up in Jerusalem, a microcosmos of Israeli society and its challenges, which drove her to pursue social justice on a local and global scope. After studying for a BA in Psychology and Criminology and an MA in International Development, Hagit joined IsraAID gaining a decade of experience working with governments and communities across 15 countries and contributing to establishing departments, shaping strategy and growing from 10 to >150 employees. As Regional Program Director, Hagit focused on Europe and the Middle East and, most recently, managed emergency operations in Ukraine.

Recently, Hagit led a research team with the Hebrew University to challenge existing paradigms in areas of localisation, economic inclusion, gender, and policy. Some of the results were published in a podcast Hagit hosted.

Hagit's passion and expertise lie in forced migration, emergency response management and community engagement; she aspires to engage these sectors from a policy angle and use what she will learn in the MPP to promote them.
