biography

Gloria Wawira is an advocate for the High Court of Kenya and a policy practitioner.

Gloria has worked for the last eight years at the Parliament of Kenya in roles including legislative counsel and head of the parliamentary committee secretariats for energy and technology.

Her most challenging but ultimately satisfying assignments have been working on the oversight of multisectoral projects bringing last mile services to marginalised communities in Kenya.

Beyond her work, Gloria has explored varied policy interests as an alumnus of the Dutch Visitors Programme for Sustainable Energy, and the USAID Young Africa Leadership Initiative.

Her current policy interests concern the nexus between technology and government, specifically the disruption occasioned by the reach of global platform technologies and the efforts by governments and international organisations to develop standardised regulations.

Gloria is an Africa-Oxford Initiative Graduate Scholar.
