Francesco Bromo is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford, where he is affiliated with the Oxford COVID-19 Government Response Tracker (OxCGRT) project.

Francesco’s research primarily focuses on the intersection between comparative political institutions (executives and legislatures) and electoral and policy outcomes. His substantive interests also include representation, coalition governance, and constitutional law. His work has been published in The Journal of Legislative Studies, Social Science Quarterly, and Parliaments, Estates and Representation, among other outlets.

Before joining the University of Oxford, Francesco was a Dissertation Fellow and Instructor of Record at Texas A&M University. He holds a BA (Hons) in Politics and International Relations & Economics from the University of Strathclyde (2019) and a PhD in Political Science from Texas A&M University (2024). In his doctoral dissertation, Francesco focused on the use and consequences of government-initiated votes of confidence and related features of parliamentarism.
