biography
Florence is from Brisbane, Australia, and holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Media and Communications from the Queensland University of Technology. She works with the Queensland Human Rights Commission in the Public Policy and Prevention Directorate where she contributes to projects aimed at eliminating systemic discrimination and protecting and embedding human rights. In recent years she supported the Commission’s independent review of workplace equality in the Queensland Police Service, examining systemic barriers to recruiting and retaining women, First Nations, and culturally diverse police. This landmark report, published in December 2024, proposed reforms to improve policing outcomes by ensuring QPS reflects the diversity of the community it serves. Florence is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and previously practised in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications practice group with Allens Linklaters.
