Fizza is from Pakistan and works at the intersection of law, policy, and development, focused on strengthening institutions and translating rights into practice. She holds an LLB and an LLM in international human rights law. Her experience spans the Supreme Court of Pakistan, where she served as a law clerk to a senior puisne judge on human rights cases involving refugee policy, the death penalty, and gender-based violence, to international advocacy in Belgium, where she engaged with the European Union on trade and human rights. Fizza currently serves as Rule of Law Expert for Asia and Africa and Pakistan Country Lead at A4ID, leading international projects to strengthen laws, practices, and policy implementation. Her work focuses on minority protection and community led justice. She is particularly interested in how culture and religion can be harnessed as vehicles for change, and how placing minorities, especially women, at the centre of policymaking can advance more inclusive societies.
