Fabián is from Lago Ranco in southern Chile where he was raised by his mother who is an artisan and his father who is a carpenter. Their example taught him the value of hard work, public service, and giving back to others. Fabián studied political science at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and has worked at the Constitutional Convention, the Undersecretariat for Crime Prevention, and the National Prosecutors Office of Chile where he led partnerships between public institutions that strengthen support for victims of crime. Fabián’s policy interests include access to justice, institutional capacity, victims’ rights, and public sector innovation. He hopes to use the knowledge and global perspective gained at Oxford to help build more effective, trusted, and people-centred public institutions in Chile.
