biography

I am a Guatemalan attorney, graduated from Universidad Rafael Landívar in 2012. I also hold an LL.M. in International Human Rights Law from University of Notre Dame. Throughout my career, I have worked on human rights-related issues with both national and international NGOs. As a staff attorney at the Centre for Justice and International Law (CEJIL), I litigated cases before the Inter-American Human Rights System mainly related to Honduras, Nicaragua and Guatemala, dealing with judicial independence, freedom of expression, economic, social and cultural rights, and gross human rights violations. Furthermore, as a Notre Dame Fellow for the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, I also worked in cases and situations concerning Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, and Venezuela touching upon issues such as indigenous people's rights, LGTBIQ rights, and prison conditions. I am pursuing an MPP at the Blavatnik School of Government as a Chevening Scholar.
