biography

Douglas is a Zambian national and a health economist specialising in health financing, health economic evaluations, global health, and economics.

With a strong educational background in economics and health economics, Douglas has dedicated his career to improving healthcare outcomes and promoting health equity, especially in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

Prior to joining the MPP programme, Douglas provided strategic leadership and managed health economics portfolios at the Health Finance Institute (HFI), a global health organisation. Through successful project execution in LMICs, Douglas have actively shaped evidence-based policies and driven positive change. He has collaborated with a wide range of stakeholders in the health sector, including USAID, Ministries of Health, government agencies, consulting firms, public health institutes, and research institutions in Zambia and other LMICs.

Douglas is a Beit-Blavatnik-Wadham Scholar.
