biography

Devon is a final year resident doctor specialising in Emergency Medicine, based in Vancouver, Canada. He completed a fellowship in LGBTQ+ Health in Toronto, Canada. In his clinical practice he works to make the Emergency Department a safer place for LGBTQ+ patients through education and advocacy. Outside of the hospital, he has worked as both a provincial union leader and as an advocate for medical education and health systems reform at the national level. Devon believes that the intersection of medicine and advocacy presents a valuable opportunity for advocates to transform health and uplift populations. Devon is a voracious reader and loves to learn, and is interested in policy topics beyond the field of medicine and across sectors including law, economics, politics and global affairs. Outside of professional work, Devon enjoys being outside and being active, cooking, exploring the world of food and wine, and travelling.
