biography

Devashish is a graduate of the City University of New York (CUNY) Hunter College, where he studied political science and public policy, and recently graduated from Oxford with an MSc in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies through the Rhodes Scholarship.

Devashish's main areas of interest are in immigration policy, migration governance, border politics, and the law. His lived experience as an asylum-seeker from Nepal and as a DACA recipient in the United States directly impacts his research, politics, and perspective on issues in the field. He has had an opportunity to work extensively on domestic and international migration issues at think tanks, NGOs, advocacy groups, and community organisations.

Devashish, also know as Dave, is a classically trained opera singer, the son of Himalayan Sherpas, and a believer that Woodside, Queens, New York is the best place on earth!
