Hailing from Singapore, Danial Hakim has broad experience in policymaking through stints at various ministries within Singapore's Civil Service, including the Prime Minister’s Office. He has worked on raising the wages and skills of lower wage workers, and driven government efforts in tackling socioeconomic problems across multiple domains. He was also part of the team which orchestrated the establishment of Singapore’s Public Defender’s Office, which enhanced access to justice for the disadvantaged. Danial Hakim is a community leader who is passionate about youth development and social mobility. He leads a non profit society (MENDAKI Club) which uplifts thousands of youths annually through mentorship and community-building programmes. He also founded another non profit society (PEGUAM) and legal clinic (Jurong Spring Legal Clinic), both of which have provided pro bono legal assistance to hundreds of individuals in need.

Danial Hakim is Singapore's first Chevening ASEAN Scholar.
