Dana R Wagner has worked in a variety of senior positions in technology companies and in government. Most recently, he was the Chief Legal Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and Corporate Secretary at Twilio, a public company focused on building next-generation communications and customer engagement tools powered by artificial intelligence. Since leaving Twilio in early 2025, Dana has focused on consulting work and board service, and he currently holds positions on the boards of multiple cryptocurrency companies and on the advisory council of the environmental nonprofit Earthjustice.
Previously, Wagner served as the Chief Legal Officer of the biotechnology company Impossible Foods, where he led the legal, government relations, quality control, and security functions. Before that, he was the founding General Counsel of the financial technology company Square (now Block), where he built and led the legal, government relations, compliance, and security teams. Earlier in his career, he led antitrust and consumer protection matters at Google, and he held various positions in the U.S. Department of Justice, including positions in the Antitrust Division and in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California. Dana received his undergraduate degrees in Economics and Comparative Literature from the University of California-Berkeley and his J.D. from Yale Law School.
