Chriss is a Rhodes Scholar from Kigali, Rwanda, currently pursuing an MSc in Translational Health Sciences at the University of Oxford. He holds a BA in Ethics, Politics, and Economics, and a Certificate in Global Health from Yale University. Growing up in Rwanda, he witnessed how limited resources and fragmented systems can hinder health outcomes and overall human development. At the same time, Rwanda's post-genocide journey has taught him the transformative power of coupling a locally-grounded, ambitious vision with creative financing and strong implementation. As such, Chriss’ current professional interests lie in implementation science, novel financing approaches, and strategic partnership models. At Oxford, he hopes to gain the skills, experiences, and networks needed to sustain the growth momentum of Rwanda's health sector and to contribute to strengthening systems across the African continent and beyond.
