Chiraag Shah is passionate about reforming public sectors so they are not siloed and can provide empathetic and adaptive policy responses to twenty-first-century challenges.

Chiraag's policy interests include building public sector structures and capabilities to mobilise cross-sectoral action. As a policy adviser in the Australian Treasury, he is building the Australian government's commercial capability and increasing the use of innovative funding and financing mechanisms in different policy fields. He previously worked in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet advising on transport and infrastructure issues during Australia's 2019-20 bushfires and COVID-19 crises, including maintaining critical supply chains disrupted by border closures and designing effective infrastructure stimulus programmes. 

Chiraag began his public policy career at the Department of Infrastructure, working on long-term national and cross-sectoral strategic policy development for disruptive transport technologies and freight supply chains.
