Carolina Stecca Douek
I hold a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Sao Paulo and, after graduating, I spent six months living in Udaipur, India, supporting agriculture livelihood development initiatives in partnership with Access Development Services. Once I returned to Brazil, I spent two and a half years working for a local management consulting firm. From there, I joined the International Finance Corporation (the private sector arm of the World Bank Group), where I was responsible for strategic regional projects. Projects I led range from promoting the socioeconomic integration of forcibly displaced populations to fostering regional development in regions with large extractive projects.
I am looking forward to further exploring policy issues such as democracy and displacement, and how technology can be both an inducer and an impediment for international development.
Carolina is a Lemann Fellow.
