biography

With over 13 years of experience in the education and social service sector in Singapore, Bernice Teo has a keen interest in strengthening upstream policy interventions to support children's development through better integration of health, social and education services.

At the start of her career, Bernice was an English Literature and Language Arts teacher before joining the Ministry of Education's Organisation Development team to drive innovation and change management. She also had the opportunity to serve in the Ministry of Social and Family Development to kickstart Singapore's out-of-home care sector transformation so that vulnerable children have a strong social safety net.

Prior to the MPP, Bernice served as Senior Assistant Director (Policy & Sector Funding) at the Early Childhood Development Agency. Together with industry partners and other government agencies, she reviewed key funding schemes, regulatory policies, and introduced legislative changes to uplift the quality of preschools in Singapore.
