biography

Ben is taking a break from working in clinical medicine in Aotearoa, New Zealand and, supported by the Rhodes Scholarship, is spending time in the UK. Last year he studied for a Master of Science in Evidence Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation at the University of Oxford, and is now aiming to use his time at Oxford to explore the improvement of preventative approaches to healthcare, especially those driven by the government and the third sector.

Ben is particularly interested in the primary care system, and the ability it has to improve rural and indigenous health equity in New Zealand, and is looking forward to further exploring health policymaking and potentially impactful careers.

Ben is a Rhodes Scholar.
