Asha is a gender equality advocate based in Canberra, Australia and the Founder of Girls Run the World (GRTW). She studied at the Australian National University (ANU) in the fields of international security and diplomacy. Her work focuses on creating access and opportunity for young women in the world of foreign policy through programmes that upskill, empower, and elevate participants. Asha recently concluded the Women in Strategic Policy programme - a collaboration between the ANU and GRTW. Funded by the Australian Department of Defence the programme trained women to contribute to Australia's strategic policy debate through writing opinion articles and supported them to get published. Asha’s policy interest lies at the intersection of gender and foreign policy, but after working in the youth space for the last eight years, she has also started looking more at how policy can be more intergenerational and truly inclusive.
