Alina is a public policy professional with nearly 10 years of experience in Russian liberal politics, NGOs, and independent media. She holds a BA in Political Science from Lomonosov Moscow State University (top-1 in Russia). Early in her career, she interned at a political consultancy, and worked as a political manager at one of Russia’s leading opposition organisations. Alina contributed to over 10 electoral campaigns and helped organise democratic forums, protest rallies, and educational programmes. When the organisation was shut down under pressure from the authorities, Alina transitioned into journalism. Following the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Alina left Russia under the threat of political persecution. With a background at the intersection of politics, media, and strategy, Alina brings strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills. She is pursuing the MPP to deepen her expertise in policymaking and political advising, and to contribute to Ukraine’s resilience and the long-term security of EU. Alina is a Hill Foundation scholar.
