biography
Aliénor is a Canadian and French climate justice advocate with experience in both national and grassroots civil society organisations. Previously, she, led advocacy campaigns aimed at securing policies that accelerate Canada’s energy transition and make it more equitable for workers and communities. She holds an Honours BA in Economics from the University of Toronto. During her time as a student, she led a local youth movement that brought tens of thousands of Torontonians into the streets to demand climate action. Aliénor enjoys working in coalitions and finding creative ways to empower stakeholders to participate in the policy-making process. While at Oxford, she is interested in understanding why so many countries, including Canada, have failed to secure lasting, transformative climate and energy policies. Aliénor is also interested in exploring how to make public policy more responsive to the pace of technological change, without compromising on quality, transparency, or public participation. Aliénor is a Blavatnik School Alumni scholar.
