biography
Alex is a public servant with over seven years' experience at the centre of policy decision-making. Beginning as a political advisor at the European Parliament in Brussels, through leadership positions across the UK Government, Alex's post-Brexit career has seen him serve as a Ministerial Private Secretary during the Covid-19 pandemic, a Senior Climate Advisor in the run-up to the COP26 Conference and, most recently, as Deputy Head of Strategy for the Cabinet Office, where he spearheaded reforms to the ways that evidence and analysis inform public policy across the UK. Alongside his work in government, Alex is an artist, prize-shortlisted filmmaker, and voluntary strategic advisor to third sector organisations, applying his record of delivering complex, cross-cutting reforms to strengthen strategy and amplify impact. He is a graduate of the University of York, where he was awarded First Class Honours (with Distinction) in Politics.
