biography

Alasdair is from Wellington, New Zealand, and has throughout his career provided policy advice both as a public servant and as a consultant. Most recently, he was a policy advisor supporting the Royal Commission of Inquiry on COVID-19 Lessons Learned. 

Prior to this, Alasdair was an Advisor to the Secretary of Social Development and a Private Secretary to the Minister of Disability Issues. Through the MPP, Alasdair hopes to enhance his policy and leadership skills and connect with dedicated policy professionals globally. He is particularly interested in issues which intersect social, economic, and environmental trends, such as equitable transitions, and wants to explore how government, communities and businesses can partner to find and deliver effective solutions. 

Alasdair holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Public Policy (First Class) and a Bachelor of Laws from Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington and is an enrolled Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand.
