Aki is a passionate central banker with a progressive enterprising spirit, multi-talented in economic data analysis as well as in global policy formation. Having earned a BSc and MSc in the University of Tokyo specialising in resource economic optimisation, Aki currently serves as an economist at the Bank of Japan where she analyses economic indicators and creates growth forecasts for the Asia-Pacific region and broader emerging countries. In addition, taking advantage of her international background with her experience studying in various countries such as the US, the Philippines, and Switzerland, Aki has a unique experience in regional financial cooperation as a policy co-ordinator. In this role, she contributed to numerous high-level international policy formations to enhance financial interconnectedness in Asia. As global connections become more complicated during the pandemic, Aki believes her time at the Blavatnik School of Government will extend her ability to conduct better co-operative policymaking.
