Ahmad is a civil engineer from Syria who worked as a Program Manager for Mercy Corps. His journey began supporting infrastructure development in Syria's peripheral regions. The eruption of violence in 2011 forced Ahmad into exile, shaping his commitment to humanitarian work. At Mercy Corps, Ahmad led teams analysing risks to humanitarian programming across Syria, providing crucial insights for decision-makers.
Previously, he served as a Syria Expert for Médecins Sans Frontières, contributing field analysis to guide adaptive programs. His experiences have instilled a deep passion for public policy, particularly in post-conflict reconstruction, economic revival, and social healing. Ahmad aims to bridge the gap between academic analysis and ground realities, leveraging his technical expertise and first-hand conflict experience to develop holistic, context-driven solutions for Syria and the broader Middle East.
