Afolarin Samuel is a community leader and charity executive from Manchester. He became Chief Executive of Young Manchester at 22 and leads work to strengthen and resource organisations supporting children and young people across the city. Over the past 8 years, Young Manchester has distributed more than 14 million pounds in grants while supporting a network of 200 member organisations that reaches over 50000 young people. Samuel is currently developing the Future Fund, an ambitious youth-owned and governed endowment designed to give young people a stake in the wealth and prosperity of their city. Samuel studied politics at Kings College London. His policy interests include community wealth building, inclusive economic development, public service reform, institutional design and new approaches to sharing power and ownership with communities.
