Afaf most recently served as Policy Advisor to the Minister of Finance of Jordan, informing on strategic, technical, and communications matters.

Prior to that she joined the Royal Hashemite Court's Office of His Majesty King Abdullah II, based in the Economic Directorate where she was chosen for a secondment at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, serving as a Policy Analyst and then Advisor at the Minister's Office. Afaf also worked for the European Union's Election Observation Mission at the Election Administration component, evaluating Jordan's electoral landscape and process, and investigated child protection during the influx of Syrian refugees at UNICEF. Afaf is Vice Curator of the World Economic Forum Global Shapers' Amman Chapter. She has recently been chosen for the Future Leaders Invitation Programme (PIPA) by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. Afaf graduated from the London School of Economics with a BSc in Government.
