Abigail (Joy) graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a B.S. in Computer Science with a minor in Chinese. Her favorite experience from her undergraduate education was spending six months at National Taiwan University studying traditional Mandarin. After commissioning in May of 2024, Joy completed the Oxford Internet Institute's MSc in Social Data Science. She is interested in studying how misinformation and influence campaigns affect national security. After her career as a naval officer, she plans to work in shaping cyber policy to protect local communities from divisive online foreign influence. Joy is a Rhodes scholar.
