biography

Abha leads the Social Finance function at The British Asian Trust and is one of its founding team members. The British Asian Trust has been at the forefront of developments in social finance, recognising that traditional philanthropy alone will not succeed in tackling the root causes of poverty and inequality in a region like South Asia.

As a Visiting Fellow of Practice, Abha works closely with the Government Outcomes Lab (GO Lab) team, with a focus on GO Lab’s international data collaborative (INDIGO) and research on the use of outcomes-focused cross-sector partnerships (such as impact bonds, and outcomes funds).

Abha has deep experience in international development and social finance and direct experience of designing and managing such cross-sector partnerships, impact bonds and outcomes funds. Abha is recognised globally as a leading practitioner and thought leader in the field.

The British Asian Trust was founded in 2007, by the then Prince of Wales and a group of British Asian business leaders, to tackle widespread poverty, inequality and injustice in South Asia. Find out more.
