We at the Blavatnik School of Government would like to congratulate our founding donor Len Blavatnik for being awarded a knighthood in the Queen’s Birthday Honours this weekend.
The official statement says: “For over a decade [Len Blavatnik] has built a record of outstanding personal philanthropy in the UK to education, cultural and charitable causes including a commitment in 2010 of £75 million to Oxford University to establish the Blavatnik School of Government.”
The Queen’s Birthday Honours lists 2017 recognise the achievements of a wide range of extraordinary people from across the UK, including other donors and academics from the University of Oxford.

MPP and MSc alumnus Carlos Santiago Guzmán wins the inaugural Michael Cichon Graduate Award
Carlos Santiago Guzmán Gutiérrez, an alumnus of the Master of Public Policy and the MSc in Public Policy Research, has received the inaugural Michael Cichon Graduate Award for outstanding master’s thesis in Social Protection. The award recognises his MSc thesis, “Universal Social Protection Schemes in Forced Displacement Settings: Evidence from Colombia.”
