Alumna Freshta Karim (MPP Class of 2016) and Chevening Scholar has just launched an organisation in Kabul, Afghanistan called Charmaghz (which means 'walnut'). The organisation focuses on providing an opportunity for critical thinking to people under 18, and also works to influence education policies in Afghanistan to ensure a quality education for students. One of the first projects is a mobile library for children which has been highly welcomed by the public, the government and the civil society. Charmaghz aims to expand to other provinces of Afghanistan, and are hoping to fundraise to support their work.
