We are delighted to announce two brand new, fully funded scholarships to encourage and support some of the best MPP applicants in studying with us.

From 2016, the prestigious Blavatnik School of Government Public Service Scholarships (in association with Green Templeton College and University College) will be awarded to two of our top candidates, based on merit and evidence of outstanding commitment to public service. The recipients will be awarded the title of Blavatnik School of Government Public Service Scholar and will receive full funding (covering full fees and living expenses).

To achieve the School’s mission of inspiring and supporting better public policy, we want change-makers to join us from all around the world, regardless of their financial circumstances. The Blavatnik School of Government Public Service Scholarships are a sign of that commitment. They will support those students who demonstrate the best potential to improve governance and public service through the evidence of their applications.

Ngaire Woods, the Dean of the Blavatnik School, explains: “The School exists to improve government through research, engagement, and education. In recruiting for our Master of Public Policy, we search across the world for brilliant, determined people who are most likely to serve their communities and to improve government. These scholarships help us to attract and offer places to the very best of them”.

Any applicant to the MPP is eligible for these scholarships, as long as they demonstrate outstanding dedication to public service through academic and professional records and complete the Blavatnik School of Government Scholarship Questionnaire (sent to all successful applicants in order to match students to need- and merit-based scholarships). More information can be found on our MPP funding pages.

These new scholarships represent a promising addition to the package of support that we already offer to supplement funding for those students who most need it. Thanks to a growing community of donors to the School, we are able to supplement alternative funding sources with over 30 Blavatnik School of Government scholarships, of which 10 are fully funded.

These precious funds make it possible for students who would not otherwise have the opportunity to study at Oxford. We hope all applicants to the MPP will find these new scholarships an encouraging indication of our pledge to support the most able and committed to public service.
