My friend, the former Muslim extremist

Alumnus Rafiullah Kakar (MPP 2013) is the protagonist of Nicholas Kristof's column in the New York Times, "My friend, the former Muslim extremist". Rafiullah's used to be a supporter of the Taliban in his country, Pakistan. Now he is a moderate Muslim, and plans to return to Balochistan and maybe enter politics.

Public leaders gather in Oxford to tackle global challenges

Two cohorts of global public leaders were welcomed to the Blavatnik School last week for an immersive, three-day learning experience. The programmes – Leading Cross-Sector Partnerships and Public Corruption Turnarounds – brought together 52 public service professionals from around the world.

Blavatnik School community collaborates on South Africa’s new digital policy

The South African Government has this week launched a Digital Transformation Roadmap, setting out a vision to improve public services and drive inclusive economic growth, with contributions from alumni, faculty and researchers at the School.
