My friend, the former Muslim extremist

Alumnus Rafiullah Kakar (MPP 2013) is the protagonist of Nicholas Kristof's column in the New York Times, "My friend, the former Muslim extremist". Rafiullah's used to be a supporter of the Taliban in his country, Pakistan. Now he is a moderate Muslim, and plans to return to Balochistan and maybe enter politics.

2026 Kyoto Prize laureates announced: innovators in global energy, marine ecology, art and music

The Inamori Foundation has announced the laureates of the 2026 Kyoto Prize, pioneers who have “contributed significantly to the scientific, cultural, and spiritual betterment of humankind”. The laureates will come to Oxford in May 2027 for the Kyoto Prize at Oxford.
