Soledad Núñez (MPP 2018) is standing for Mayor of Asunción, Paraguay, in municipal elections taking place on 4 October. She is the candidate of the opposition alliance Juntos por Asunción, which brings together a broad coalition of political parties.

Núñez previously served as Paraguay’s Minister of Housing and Habitat. Her candidacy is supported by parties including the Liberal Party, Patria Querida Party, Progressive Democratic Party, País Solidario Party, Partido Encuentro Nacional, Partido Yo Creo, Cruzada Nacional Party, Frente Amplio Party, Partido Febrerista, Partido de la A, Citizen Participation Party and Paraguay Sovereign Party.

She concluded her campaign this week ahead of Sunday’s vote, with an event attended by supporters and representatives of the parties backing her candidacy.
