The Blavatnik School is delighted to announce that a distinguished member of its International Advisory Board has been appointed Governor of the Bank of England. Mark Carney has served as the Governor of the Bank of Canada since his appointment in 2007, and is the current Chairman of the G20’s Financial Stability Board. He has a DPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford. He will assume his new position on 1 July 2013 for a five-year term.

Public leaders gather in Oxford to tackle global challenges
Two cohorts of global public leaders were welcomed to the Blavatnik School last week for an immersive, three-day learning experience. The programmes – Leading Cross-Sector Partnerships and Public Corruption Turnarounds – brought together 52 public service professionals from around the world.
