Last Friday, last day of Trinity term, marked the end of the Hong Kong Government Fellows’ Professional Development Programme with the Blavatnik School in Oxford.

The ten HKG Fellows have been with us for the whole term and have undertaken courses on anything from international relations and public policy, to management and economics while at the School. They have also researched and developed in-depth case studies on the challenges of government and shared their policy recommendations for solving such issues. They presented their reports and findings in front of our Dean Ngaire Woods and members of Blavatnik School faculty, showing an understanding of new methods and policy research.

The Fellows also had the chance to take part in professional development with senior mentors around the University of Oxford and to engage in leisure activities such as a photo competition (see the winning images below).

  • Winner for ‘City of Oxford’: Punting on the Thames - Veronica TSE
  • Winner for ‘Travels around the UK': Taking Flight, Snowdon Summit in Wales - Solo WOO
  • Winner for ‘best selfie / group photo’: Trinity College, Oxford - Percy LEUNG

We want to congratulate all Fellows for their outstanding work on the course and we wish them the best of luck as they bring back a new and valuable experience to their positions as civil servants in Hong Kong.
