Alumna Aparajita Bharti (MPP 2012) launched a citizens driven initiative called the ‘Corporate Citizens for Gurgaon’ which focuses on urban development issues in one of India’s major commercial hubs ‘Gurgaon’, adjoining the National Capitol of India, New Delhi. The objective of the campaign was to highlight the poor condition of roads, sanitation, street lighting and public transport ahead of state elections in October. It will now focus on working with different arms of the government like police, urban planning bodies and the elected representatives to find solutions to this new city's infrastructure and safety issues.
