Christian Turner, the incoming UK Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN in New York, has been appointed a Visiting Public Leadership Fellow at Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government.
The Fellowship, which will run over the course of one year, will enable Christian to undertake study, reflection and engagement with scholars and students at the School, offering the opportunity to focus on specific policy challenges and solutions as he takes up his position at the United Nations.
Ngaire Woods, Dean of the Blavatnik School, said:
"It’s a pleasure to welcome Christian to the School as a Visiting Public Leadership Fellow. His outstanding record in public service and diplomacy promises to bring invaluable insights and inspiration to our community, as he uses his time here to reflect and engage with the policy challenges that lie ahead."
Christian’s career in the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) spans two decades, including as British High Commissioner to Pakistan, British High Commissioner to Kenya, and the UK Prime Minister’s International Affairs Adviser and Deputy National Security Adviser.
