A report on questions and issues arising from the Blavatnik School’s Challenges of Government Conference on ‘People Power Politics’ has been published.
The report aims to give some insight into the event, which attracted over 240 people to Oxford over the course of two days of lectures, panel discussions and breakout sessions.
The event, held on 9-10 December 2013, was the third Challenges of Government Conference organised by the School to explore a range of policy challenges with an audience of scholars, students, policymakers, practitioners and other experts. The focus this year, on 'People Power Politics' aimed to shine the spotlight on what rising challenges of democratic accountability and new possibilities for citizen mobilization opened up by communication technologies mean for governments.
