We’re pleased to announce the launch of the Lemann Visiting Fellow of Practice Programme at the Blavatnik School of Government, and applications are now open for the 2015-2016 academic year.
The Programme supports Brazilian nationals who are outstanding senior practitioners and academics for a period of study, reflection and engagement with scholars and students at the Blavatnik School of Government.
Lemann Visiting Fellows of Practice will be outstanding individuals who can show they will substantially benefit from a period of research and intellectual activity aimed at developing their understanding of specific policy issues and solutions to challenges in their home country. By spending time at the Blavatnik School as part of our vibrant international community, Fellows will also gain an opportunity to reflect on practices in other countries both within their region and beyond.
This year’s area of policy research focus for the Fellowship is Education Policy.
Each year the Blavatnik School selects an area of policy being researched by faculty, doctoral students and/or post-doctoral researchers at the School, which would be substantially improved by engagement with a Lemann Visiting Fellow. During their visit Fellows will be expected to develop case studies and/or policy briefings or op-eds on their area of expertise. They will also be encouraged to share their expertise on policy implementation, for example by speaking at workshops to School students, or participating in a public lecture.
The new Lemann Visiting Fellow of Practice Programme at the Blavatnik School of Government provides an important link between research and practice, and strengthens our mission to improve government and public policy around the world. We are pleased and grateful to be extending our relationship with the Lemann Foundation to bring about this exciting opportunity for Brazilian nationals to spend time among the members of our community.
