Hakeem Onasanya (MPP 2019) has been selected by His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife as a recipient of the 2022 Royal African Youth Leadership Award in the Entrepreneurship & Empowerment category. The award honours his leadership of a COVID-19 recovery project targeted at small businesses in Lagos, which has so far supported 764 businesses with grants as they battle with the economic effects of the pandemic.

Carlos Santiago Guzmán Gutiérrez, an alumnus of the Master of Public Policy and the MSc in Public Policy Research, has received the inaugural Michael Cichon Graduate Award for outstanding master’s thesis in Social Protection. The award recognises his MSc thesis, “Universal Social Protection Schemes in Forced Displacement Settings: Evidence from Colombia.”
