Edison Broce Urriola (MPP 2015), an independent member of the Panamanian National Assembly, is currently acting as president of the Investigation Committee that will execute a detailed analysis on mass deforestation in Darien, home of thousands of species and Panama’s largest tropical forest. The commission is composed of nine parliamentarians from all political parties, who have 90 days to deliver a detailed report around the recorded 21,000 hectares that have been lost since 2012.
