10 June 2025 - 11 June 2025
Blavatnik School of Government
Invited audience only

We are delighted to invite you to the DFI Frontier Markets Forum 2025 which will be held at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford, on 10 and 11 June 2025.

Since its inception in 2019, the Forum (formerly the DFI Fragility Forum) has brought together senior-level decision-makers from multilateral and bilateral DFIs for an action oriented discussion on how to improve the effectiveness of private sector investments in fragile settings, strengthen inter-DFI collaboration in addressing fragility at the country and global level, and ultimately support countries affected by fragility in their transition towards socio-economic resilience, sustainable development, and peace.

Hosted annually at the University of Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government, the Forum is co-organised by the African Development Bank (AfDB), British International Investment (BII), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the International Growth Centre (IGC).

This year’s Forum will discuss the recent decline in ODA and the role of DFIs in frontier economies. We will also discuss the role of DFIs in supporting reforms to promote a sustainable investment climate in these settings. Building on the momentum generated last year on E&S risk management, the Forum will continue the conversation on developing a differentiated DFI approach for E&S implementation in FCS. Focus will also be on forcibly displaced populations (FDP) and private sector solutions in these settings to create jobs, improve access to basic services, and support local economic development. We will be reaching out to the participating DFIs to seek their views and help prepare for the discussion on FDP.

The Forum's high-level agenda can be reviewed below. Information on transportation, directions, and hotels can be found in the logistics section.

Please note the Forum is designed to bring together senior management plus one from each participating DFI. Please contact us if you need to discuss your organisation's participation. We look forward to your response and to welcoming you at Oxford.
