As part of the University of Oxford Alumni Weekend Dean Ngaire Woods will be chairing a discussion 'Is democracy dying around the world?'
Citizens are demonstrating against their leaders in record numbers. In many countries, voter turnout has rarely been so low, with recent surveys suggesting 70% of people do not trust their government. A panel of experts will examine the challenges facing democracy today, and will ask how trust can be restored in governments around the world.
Taking part in the panel discussion are Maya Tudor, Associate Professor of Government and Public Policy, Blavatnik School of Government, and Rafat Ali Al-Akhali, Fellow of Practice - Strategic Projects, Blavatnik School of Government.
£10 This event is free for Blavatnik School of Government alumni and their guests (booking is still required).
Book through the Alumni Weekend 2016 website.
