Overview

The Master of Public Policy (MPP) is an intensive one-year graduate degree that offers a fully interactive and immersive approach to learning about public policy.

Students not only study how policy is made, implemented and evaluated but also go beyond theory to practical application. Students write a Policy Report on a topic of their choosing over the summer. The Policy Report can be informed by a summer placement at a policy-focused organisation where they can apply what they have learned through the year to real life challenges.

The Policy Reports and placements are vital parts of the MPP programme. We are grateful to the many organisations who have so kindly hosted our students for their placements. These provide our students incredible opportunities to contribute to public policy in a wide range of fields across the world.

If you are interested in partnering with us by hosting an MPP student to carry out a project with your organisation, please contact policyreport@bsg.ox.ac.uk.

We were so lucky to get a student from the Blavatnik school this summer. They integrated into our team from day one, and quickly threw themselves into gritty, detailed policy. Our student produced very impressive and detailed research that our team will reference and draw on for years to come.

It was a pleasure hosting a Blavatnik student for an MPP Summer Project. Our student was enthusiastic, reliable, and made a tremendous impact on our work in a short period of time. He had strong policy research and writing skills which enabled him to make valuable contributions to the team.
