The Snowden revelations have made pressing the following question: what is the appropriate balance between security and privacy in a liberal democratic society?

In this project I present the moral case for foregoing (some of) the mass surveillance capabilities that the UK and USA governments now possess.

An initial output is a submission to the Intelligence and Security Committee of Parliament's enquiry into the topic.
