biography

Jasmine was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, and is a proud public servant. Most recently, she was a Policy Advisor with the Canadian Human Rights Commission’s International Unit. Her work advanced human rights, with a focus on housing rights and monitoring Canada’s implementation of its international human rights obligations, particularly the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). She is also passionate about arts education for young people, having taught children's performing arts classes throughout Vancouver. Jasmine's policy interests include a range of human rights issues such as housing, disability, older adults’ and children's rights, and ending family-based violence. She is an alumnae of the Dual BA program between UBC-SciencesPo where she earned a BA in International Relations from UBC as a Wesbrook & Trek Scholar as well as a BA in Government & Politics from SciencesPo, as Summa Cum Laude. Jasmine is a Mackenzie King Memorial Scholar.
