New ways of working: Over the course of the 2021/2022 academic year, the Blavatnik School is trialling a framework on ways of working that is based on one developed by the University called ‘New Ways of Working’. This draws on our learning and experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic and, where operationally possible, seeks to facilitate informal arrangements for staff to continue benefitting from new working practices to support an effective work-life balance. Please speak to your line manager and/or the HR team about how the framework could be applied to your position.
Salary: our salary structure is nationally negotiated and includes automatic annual increments until you reach the maximum point of the service scale for the grade of your post.

The Blavatnik School of Government is a fully wheelchair accessible building. All floors are serviced by lifts that are located at the rear entrance to the School, with lift controls located at a suitable height for wheelchair users. All our office spaces are fully accessible and each floor has accessible toilet facilities.
There are Blue Badge parking spaces at the front of the building and some additional parking space is available at the back of the building.
Employee Assistance Programme (EAP): EAP provides staff and their immediate family with free and confidential information and counselling services on personal issues. The service is provided by an external organisation which operates a helpline 24 hours a day.
Food and drink: our cafe, located on the ground floor, provides a range of breakfast and lunch options. There are also kitchens on Levels 2, 3 and 5 with free tea and coffee.
Bike storage and showers: the School has indoor bike storage, lockers and shower facilities for those who cycle to work.
Learning and development
Talks, seminars and conferences: in term time the School hosts regular events and talks with well-known guest speakers that are open to all staff.
Oxford Learning Institute: provide a variety of courses for free, including courses on leadership and management, personal development and programmes for women and newcomers.
Staff learning scheme: a framework to assist employees to apply for internal funding for personal training.
Lynda.com: Staff receive free, unlimited access to Lynda.com online training portal.
Access to colleges: University employees and one guest may visit Oxford University's Colleges and Halls for free with a University staff card.
Bodleian Library: access to the Bodleian Library and the other Oxford University Library Services with a University staff card.
Botanic Gardens: University employees are able to visit the University of Oxford Botanic Garden free of charge with a University staff card.
