A report on the Blavatnik School of Government's aims and achievements over the previous year, published in August 2017.

Highlights of the past academic year include:

  • We had our largest ever number of students – 124 MPP students from 70 different countries, and 15 DPhil students.
  • The launch of Oxford’s first MOOC (Massive Open Online Course entitled “From Poverty to Prosperity”) which brought Paul Collier’s expertise in Economic Development to over 44,000 learners from all regions of the world.
  • We celebrated a new partnership with the Inamori Foundation which brings the Kyoto Prize Laureates to the School each year.
  • We are delighted to be taking forward a five-year partnership with the Africa Initiative for Governance (AIG) which supports a Distinguished AIG Fellow each year and 5 AIG scholarships for successful MPP candidates from West Africa.
